1) Harrods is a smart and luxury store which has seven floors. It was created by Charles Henry Harrod in 1834 (eighteen thirty-four), when he was only 25 (twenty-five) years old. It has a slogan : « Omnia Omnibus Ubique » which means : « All Things for All People, Everywhere ».
2) This store is situated at 87-135 (eighty-seven to one hundred thirty-five) Brompton Road, Knightsbridge in London. It's next to Buckingham Palace and Kensington Gardens. To go there, you can take the bus, the car or the tube. If you take the tube, the nearest stations are Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner on the Picadilly line.
3) Charles Henry Harrod was a businessman who was born in April 16 (sixteen), 1799 (seventeen ninety-nine) and died in March 31 (thirty-one), 1885 (eighteen eighty-five).
4) The store occupies a 5-acre (20 000 m²) (twenty thousand square meters) site (it's the biggest departement in Europe). Inside the store there are about 32 (thirty-two) restaurants, and there are also places where we can buy women's, men's, children's and baby's clothes and shoes, electronics, jewellery, sporting gear, pets and pet accessories, toys, food and drink, health and beauty items (for example perfume or make-up), gifts, and much more. But there's a dress code : we mustn't enter with a soldier uniform, poorly caped or with traksuits...
5) The official site is : www.harrods.com
We can buy and order online, search what we want without go in London.
5-acre : 5 hectares
square meters : mètres carrés

poorly capped = mal coiffé
